The Hoops captain’s light-hearted post prompted mixed reaction from the Parkhead faithful.

Scott Brown of Celtic is seen during the Scott Brown testimonial match between Celtic and Republic of Ireland XI at Celtic Park on May 20, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Scott Brown’s light-hearted social media message after he joined in the FaceApp Challenge and put an image of himself through the filter before sharing it online.

The app lets users pick a photo from their gallery and can make them look older, younger or a different gender, with the latest viral internet challenge seeing people share pictures of themselves through the “older” filter.

Celtic captain Brown joked on Twitter about whether he should grow his hair again, linking to his Instagram feed:

Cue many of the Hoops faithful saying Broony looks like certain other celebrities, while some jokingly told him “no” outright:

Brown helped his side run out 2-1 winners over Sarajevo on Wednesday night to secure a 5-2 aggregate win in their Champions League qualifying first round to secure a second-round tie with Estonian side Nomme Kalju.

The 33-year-old has previously outlined his ambition to go into management once he hangs up his boots (Sky Sports News) so there is every chance that he could continue his association with the Parkhead club for many years to come.
