Celtic want Ryan Mmaee as they look to raid Hungarian champions Ferencvaros with a summer move for their star striker.

Celtic are Scottish champions once again having wrestled the title back from rivals Rangers this past season.

Ange Postecoglou’s next challenge will be to thrive in Europe too, especially having seen Rangers reach the Europa League final.

Celtic may need quality additions this summer to go a little further in Europe and a number of players are already being linked.

Another name has now emerged with Celtic understood to be keen on Mmaee.

Celtic want Ryan Mmaee

The Daily Record report that Celtic are ‘on the chase’ of Mmaee after extensive data analysis undertaken on the Ferencvaros ace.

Postecoglou wants more attacking firepower and Mmaee has come up on Celtic’s radar.

Mmaee, 24, previously turned out for Standard Liege, Waasland-Beveren and AGF before heading to Cyprus with AEL Limassol.

The Belgium-born Morocco international hit 25 goals in 59 games with AEL Limassol, earning his move to Ferencvaros last summer.

Mmaee was exceptional last season, racking up 19 goals and 11 assists in just 37 games.

Add in four goals in 11 caps for Morocco and Mmaee is making a huge impact in front of goal.

The Hungarian press voted Mmaee as the second-best striker in Hungary this season, behind only Martin Adam of Paks.

That report noted that Mmaee is ‘unpredictable’ on and off the pitch whilst praising him for his dribbling and technique.

Mmaee actually played against Celtic last season as Ferencvaros were in their Europa League group.

Mmaee started in the game at Celtic Park but was on the bench when Celtic headed to Hungary.

We could now see Mmaee head to Scotland as competition for Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis up top, but Ferencvaros won’t want to sell without a fight.
