Celtic have announced who will be unfurling the league flag on the opening day of the Scottish Premiership season.

The two Lisbon Lions passed away earlier this year, causing great sadness at the club and amongst supporters.
However, it has been a great time for fans to share the men’s stories and contributions to the Hoops during a legendary period of success and it seems flag day will be another opportunity to do that.
Billy McNeill stands as the club’s greatest ever captain, becoming the first British man to lift the European Cup back in 1967.
Stevie Chalmers of course is the man who scored the winning goal against Inter Milan in the final.
Celtic Chairman Ian Bankier said of the flag day plans: “Both Billy and Stevie gave everything to the club and as we celebrate another year of success and domestic domination for the club, we will also take time once again to remember the unique contribution which Billy and Stevie made to our great club – two men who themselves took Celtic to the top, time and time again.”
That era of Celtic produced a team that across the decades has never been forgotten and it’s fitting that even when some of them pass on their legend is told to new generations.

Their achievements will likely never be matched or beaten and they, along with their teammates of the time, will continue to be an inspiration to every Hoops team that has followed.
Fans are delighted to hear of the opening day plans, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts…
