Manchester City are reportedly looking to sell Fabian Delph this summer.
Manchester City’s Fabian Delph shoots wide
According to the Daily Mail, Celtic are interested in signing Fabian Delph – but Manchester City are demanding around £12million for his signature this summer.
Delph, 27, joined Celtic in a surprise move from Aston Villa in the summer of 2015, with many believing that whilst he impressed at Villa Park, he would get lose in the shuffle at the Etihad Stadium.

That’s exactly what has happened, with Delph making just 24 Premier League appearances for City as he has struggled for playing times as well as full fitness.
Now, the England international is expected to leave City this summer, and the Daily Mail report that Celtic are looking to sign him, with the intention of tempting him to Glasgow with the promise of Champions League football.

A reunion with former Aston Villa team-mate Scott Sinclair could be appealing for Delph, but there is one major problem for Celtic – the alleged £12millon asking price on Delph’s head.
The Daily Mail reported back in April that Rodgers will be handed a £15million transfer budget this summer, with the intention of signing three players in the £4million to £5million price bracket.

Not only is Delph valued way beyond that, but his fee would effectively see Celtic blow their budget on one player – and that may just put the midfielder out of Celtic’s reach.
Whilst Delph is a quality player and would really boost the Celtic midfield, the Bhoys should be wary of spending a huge fee on a player with notable injury problems over the years, meaning that unless City make Delph available for loan or reduce their asking price, Celtic should look elsewhere.
