Celtic are reportedly looking to sign a one-time Rangers target.
According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic are interested in bringing Kevin Nisbet to Parkhead this summer.
And if he does indeed join the Hoops and thrives, which is very possible, it’ll leave a bitter taste in Rangers’ mouth.
That’s because Rangers were linked with the red-hot striker in November of 2019 [Glasgow Evening Times] but elected against signing him the following January, with the player admitting that he was ‘really flattered‘ with the interest.
And it wouldn’t be a good look for the Ibrox outfit if he goes to Celtic and rips up the Scottish Premiership – and he could.
This is a player who has netted 16 goals for Hibernian this summer – 14 in the league – and when surrounded by better players, it’s very probable that his goal tally could rise in a big way next season.
It’ll take more than Nisbet for Celtic to win back their title, given the gulf in class between both Old Firm sides this season.
But Rangers may well end up losing Alfredo Morelos and although the same is true at Paradise with Odsonne Edouard, you need a proven Premiership hitman as a replacement and that’s precisely what Nisbet is.
