According to the Daily Record, Celtic have agreed a fee to sell Cameron Harper to New York Red Bulls.
It’s claimed that the two clubs have now thrashed out a deal for Harper to head to the United States immediately.
Red Bulls tried to sign Harper to a pre-contract agreement, but they’re now paying cash to sign him immediately.
Celtic had wanted to keep Harper and had been in talks for months to keep him, but he was concerned by his lack of pathway to first-team football.
That means the youngster is now on the move, and believes he will play first-team action under Gerhard Struber in America.
Harper, 19, was snapped up in 2018 having been spotted by Tommy Burns’ son, and had been backed for a bright future at Parkhead.
The attacker has played just one first-team game this season, playing 61 minutes against Hibernian as Celtic were heavily hit by the global pandemic.
A deal looks imminent for Harper, with Celtic accepting that he would be leaving on a pre-contract anyway, so it’s better to take cash now.
