Martin impressed by Brown
Russell Martin believes that Celtic captain Scott Brown would easily be capable of playing in the Premier League.
Martin, who linked up with Brown on international duty this week, was clearly impressed by the Bhoys midfielder and paid testament to his ability today.
“I always knew Scott was a good player, but I didn’t know how good,” he said to the Daily Record.
“I remember Harry Redknapp saying Scott was a guy who could play in the Premier League and it’s true, he could.”
Lennon compliments Celtic
Neil Lennon may no longer be in charge at Parkhead, but he is clearly still fond of Celtic.
The Scottish manager has just been appointed by Bolton Wanderers and he still had time to compliment Celtic on his arrival at his new club.
“Its a great challenge,” he said of joining Bolton to the Express. “I left one great football club with a great history and have now joined another one.”
Murray backs Boyd and Miller
Former Rangers midfielder Ian Murray believes that Kris Boyd and Kenny Miller will work in tandem again soon.
Neither striker has been on good form over the opening course of the season, but Murray insists they will start hitting the back of the net regularly soon.
“I think they will just get better and better and sharper and sharper with every game that they play,” he said to the Evening Times.
“I think their frontline will grow in confidence as they pick up results.”
