Liverpool star Andrew Robertson has never hidden his love for Celtic – and it’s on show today as they take on bitter rivals Rangers at Ibrox.
Robertson was born and bred in Glasgow, growing up a huge Celtic fan; in the days of Henrik Larsson and Stiliyan Petrov, who could blame him?
Robertson even starts in the Celtic ranks but had his dreams of becoming a first-team Bhoy snatched away from him.
The 28-year-old was ditched by Celtic at Under-15 level for being too small, leaving him to go into the lower leagues with Queen’s Park.
Robertson’s rise to Premier League and Champions League winner with Liverpool has been incredible, leaving Celtic somewhat red-faced.
That hasn’t stopped Robertson’s love for Celtic though.
From admitting his disappointment over Brendan Rodgers’ exit to praising Reo Hatate, Robertson still bleeds green and white.
Today, Robertson’s beloved Hoops are facing old rivals Rangers at Ibrox with both Glasgow sides gunning for the Scottish Premiership title.
At the time of writing, Celtic lead 2-1 despite going down to an early Aaron Ramsey goal.
Tom Rogic and Cameron Carter-Vickers have found the net to turn the game on its head.
Shortly after Rogic’s goal, Robertson took to Instagram to post a photo in a swimming pool as part of his recovery following Liverpool’s win over Watford on Saturday.
In the background, you can clearly see Celtic players celebrating Rogic’s goal, with Robertson leaving that in there on purpose.
Robertson simply wrote ‘recovery’ with the photo, which may well have been just as much about Celtic getting back into the game as it was about his own fitness.
The focus may be on getting himself ready for Benfica in midweek, but Robertson will be absolutely glued to Celtic’s clash with Rangers today.
