Celtic pair Kristoffer Ajer and Jack Hendry could be worth a fortune in a few years.

Celtic centre-back Jack Hendry is earning rave reviews after his international debut on Tuesday – and rightly so.

The former Dundee United defender helped Scotland to a 1-0 victory away to Hungary in what was his first game for the Scots, though the 22-year-old did not look in the least bit intimidated by the occasion and posted a wonderful performance.

Hendry has reinforced his reputation as a very exciting talent, but spare a thought for Kristoffer Ajer, whose first foray into senior international football is getting nowhere near the same amount of attention.

Hendry’s Celtic team-mate also made his debut for Norway over the international break, starting the 4-1 demolition of Australia, before retaining his spot in the first XI for the 1-0 win over Albania three days later.

Ajer, still only 19, was praised by Norway boss Lars Lagerback after both games. It looks like Celtic could have an outstanding centre-back pairing in the near future and better yet, the Hoops assembled it for only £2.3 million.

Ajer joined Celtic under Ronny Deila over two years ago, signing for as little as £800,000, while Hendry sealed a £1.5 million move to Parkhead in January.

Given their age, it’s very plausible that both will improve dramatically and therefore their price-tags might well skyrocket over the coming years, and the Premiership giants stand to make a massive profit if one or both then catch the attention of Premier League teams down South.
