Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has told The Press Association that striker Giorgos Giakoumakis could finally make his debut for the club tonight.
The Bhoys are back in action tonight as they look to bounce back from Sunday’s shock defeat at Livingston.
It’s Scottish League Cup action for Celtic tonight as they host Raith Rovers at Parkhead.
Postecoglou may look to rotate his side against lower league opposition, with Giakoumakis in contention.
Giakoumakis waiting for Celtic debut
Greek striker Giakoumakis signed for Celtic on deadline day after weeks of rumours linking him with the Bhoys.
The 26-year-old smashed 26 goals in just 30 Eredivisie games last season, ending the campaign as the top scorer in the division.
Celtic fans are understandably excited to see him in action, given that he has essentially arrived as Odsonne Edouard’s replacement.
Yet whilst fellow late arrivals Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers have been playing, Giakoumakis has yet to feature.

Postecoglou comments on Giakoumakis
Boss Postecoglou has now confirmed that Giakoumakis will be in the Celtic squad for tonight’s game against Raith.
Postecoglou tempered expectations, suggesting that the striker won’t be fit and firing because this is his first game of the season.
The Australian did though note that Giakoumakis has impressed in training this week as he looks to get his Celtic career off the ground.
“He’ll be part of the squad for Raith,” said Postecoglou. “It’ll be his first game of the season so we don’t expect him to come in and be flying. Like every player, it’s going to take him a bit of time to get up to speed and get some match fitness.”
“The good thing is that he’s had a good, solid week of training and he feels pretty good. We’ll hopefully get him some game time against Raith and then build from there,” he added.
