Defoe’s 18-month loan move to Rangers was confirmed on Sunday.

Celtic midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu has been caught liking a Tweet posted by Sky Sports, reporting that Jermain Defoe had passed a medical at Rangers over the weekend.
Defoe, 36, has agreed an 18-month loan move to join Rangers from English Premier League side AFC Bournemouth, in what is just one of four signings already made by the Teddy Bears this month.
Steven Gerrard has also brought Steven Davis back to Ibrox on loan from Southampton – almost seven years after he left in 2012. Glen Kamara and Jordan Jones has signed pre-contract agreements.
Before Defoe had been confirmed, Sky Sports Tweeted that the striker had passed a medical at Rangers on Sunday and Celtic player Mulumbu was caught by fans on Twitter after liking the post.
Rangers and Celtic both remain locked on 42 points in the race to win the Scottish Premiership title, though Celtic do have a game in hand over Gerrard’s men. The signings of Defoe and Davis could tip the balance in Rangers favour.
Mulumbu, meanwhile, joined Celtic in the summer after his contract at Kilmarnock expired. However, the DR Congo international has managed just three appearances in all competitions.
Perhaps frustrated, Mulumbu has been caught ‘liking’ a Tweet of Celtic’s arch rivals Rangers completing a move to sign Defoe.
