Atakayi broke into Rangers’ first-team plans under Steven Gerrard earlier this season, but suffered an injury on his debut at Ibrox.
Earlier this month, Borna Barisic revealed to Sportske Novosti that he and his Rangers teammate, Nikola Katic, attend church with two of their Celtic rivals, Filip Benkovic and Jozo Simunovic, every weekend. The quartet, of course, being fellow Croatians.
But does another Rangers-Celtic friendship exist, between Serge Atakayi from the Blue half, and Youssouf Mulumbu from the Green?
Well it looks that way, after Mulumbu – who is currently on loan at Rangers and Celtic’s title rivals, Kilmarnock – tagged Atakayi in an Instagram post on Thursday.
The clip showed the Celtic-owned player dancing to music in his living room, and was followed by another of the same only with the caption ‘Real Congolese’ this time.
Despite having represented Finland at various international levels, it is in Mulumbu’s native Democratic Republic of Congo that the Rangers player was born – and in the same city, Kinshasa, to be precise.
At the time of writing Atakayi has yet to reply – perhaps fearing a backlash from the Rangers fans for fraternising with the enemy?
