Scott Allan joined Hibernian on loan from Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic on January transfer deadline day.

Allan joined Hibernian on loan from Scottish Premiership rivals Celtic in the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old midfielder spent the first half of the season on loan at Dundee before moving to Hibs on January transfer deadline day.
The former Scotland Under-21 international has been on the books of Celtic since the summer of 2015 when he joined from Hibernian, but Allan has failed to make a huge impact at Celtic Park so far.
Allan’s current contract with the Hoops runs out in the summer of 2019, according to Transfermarkt.com, and the midfielder has suggested that he is ready to play for Hibernian beyond the end of the season and leave Celtic on a permanent deal.

“Yes, I’d like to, if it works well for me and the club,” Allan told Capital City Press about a long-term stay at Hibernian.
“The last time I was here was the most enjoyment I’ve had in football, so hopefully I can recreate that.”
“I just want to put some roots down,” added the midfielder. “It’s something my career really needs just now.”

Good for all parties
Allan was a success during his time at Hibernian in 2014-15, and it would make sense for the Celtic-owned midfielder to sign a permanent contract with Hibs at the end of the season.
Celtic are doing well without the midfielder, and the Glasgow giants have no need for the 26-year-old, who needs to play regularly at this stage of his career.
