Celtic target Ado Onaiwu has completed his move to French side Toulouse in a deal that may open the door for Amine Adli to join Arsenal or Leicester City.
The Hoops have already snapped up one J-League star since former Yokohama F Marinos boss Ange Postecoglou took over the dugout, with Andres Iniesta’s old sparring partner Kyogo Furuhashi making the long trip to Glasgow earlier this month.
And while Celtic considered another – it was reported the prolific Onaiwu had been identified as a potential Odsonne Edouard replacement – the 25-year-old Japan international always appeared to be out of Postecoglou’s reach.
Toulouse agreed a deal for Onaiwu a while back and the Ligue 2 outfit finally confirmed one of French football’s worst-kept secrets yesterday, officially unveiling a man who has scored 15 goals in 27 games this season.

“I am very happy to join Toulouse Football Club. I wanted to come here,” Onaiwu tells the club’s official website.
“I am really happy. My strong point is in front of goal. I hope very much to score for the club and to be able to show my qualities to the supporters and to my teammates.”
The arrival of a striker at Toulouse will raise further questions about the future of another.
In June, Tuttomercatoweb reported Premier League giants Arsenal and Leicester had shown an interest in Adli, the £9 million-rated speed-machine named Ligue 2’s player of the year after a stunning breakthrough season at the Stadium de Toulouse.
And club president Damien Comolli admits Adli has turned down the chance to sign a new contract at the club after they missed out on promotion via a play-off defeat to Nantes at the end of last season. Arsenal and Leicester will be all ears.
