The Hoops are preparing for 2019-20 in a training camp in Austria as they seek to bring more silverware to Parkhead next year.

Celtic midfielder Armstrong Oko-Flex has given an insight into Neil Lennon’s firm but fair approach towards him and his fellow youngsters on the training pitch, in conversation with the club’s official website.

The 17-year-old is currently at the Scottish treble Treble winners’ Austrian summer training camp, hoping to impress the Hoops manager and his backroom staff as he targets the first team for next term.

Celtic’s players have been training in particularly testing conditions, with temperatures of over 30 degrees and no wind, which according to Oko-Flex, makes even a simple passing drill more difficult.

Nonetheless, the teenager is making the most of the tough conditions as he seeks to raise his game and give Lennon food for thought when it comes to picking his competitive squads in 2019-20.

“It’s great having strong, experienced characters like the gaffer and Damien Duff on the training pitch,” Oko-Flex told the official Celtic website.

“The gaffer is really good at encouraging us, and sometimes he expects more. If you make a loose pass, he’ll be on to you right away, which is good. He doesn’t let little things slide, which is really good, especially for us younger ones who are always learning.”

Oko-Flex joined from Arsenal last September and featured twice on the Scottish champions’ first-team bench last season, once against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in February, and again against Hearts at Parkhead in May (official club website).
