Celtic now want to sign Levi Garcia from AEK Athens – a player who has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ange Postecoglou clearly isn’t satisfied with his attack at Parkhead, despite the fact his Celtic side are currently sat 13 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership with 103 goals scored in 33 games.

So, who is Garcia, and what do we know about Celtic‘s interest? Let’s take a look…

Celtic want Levi Garcia

Well – according to The Scottish Sun – Celtic sent scouts to watch Garcia on Sunday as he faced Olympiacos, where he scored his 18th goal of the season.

The Trinidad and Tobago international also has six assists to his name in 33 games across all competitions, in what has been an exceptional campaign, to say the least.

Garcia – who cost AEK Athens £1.9m when they signed him from Beitar Jerusalem in 2020 – has played in the centre of the attack this season, but has also been deployed out on the right, so he is a versatile figure.

The Scottish Sun add that Celtic are eyeing Garcia as a potential replacement for Abada, who could be leaving Glasgow this summer.

Celtic could have their own Ronaldo in Levi Garcia

For those of you who know very little about Garcia, a comparison to a better known player may help.

Interestingly, the 25-year-old has been compared to none other than Cristiano Ronaldo.

Garcia’s 6ft frame and impressive leap led Ground News to liken him to the Portugal international, who has five Ballon d’Ors to his name.

Garcia also wears the No.7 shirt which only adds to that comparison.

The Scottish Sun do not mention a fee for the AEK Athens forward, but he is not expected to command a huge sum of money given the fact he only has two years remaining on his contract.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Celtic begin to make transfer plans for the summer window.
