Celtic have been told to make their move for Bodo/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen after the departure of Ange Postecoglou.

Jan Aage Fjortoft is urging Celtic to target Kjetil Knutsen after Ange Postecoglou’s move to Tottenham Hotspur was confirmed.

Postecoglou completed his move to Tottenham earlier this morning, penning a four-year deal with Spurs after days of speculation.

That leaves Celtic to consider landing a replacement for Postecoglou, which won’t exactly be easy after his fine work over the last two years.

A return for Brendan Rodgers doesn’t exactly look likely and there have been links to Graham Potter too.

Manchester City assistant manager Enzo Maresca appears to be a name in the frame, with Jesse Marsch also mentioned.

What if Celtic look a little further afield?

The Bhoys went with a left-field appointment by landing Postecoglou in the first place, plucking him from Yokohama F. Marinos.

Maybe Celtic could look towards Norway for a new boss with Bodo/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen very highly rated.

Jan Aage Fjortoft backs Kjetil Knutsen for Celtic

Knutsen has worked minor miracles at Bodo/Glimt.

The 54-year-old has won two Eliteserien titles as Bodo/Glimt boss and won the Coach of the Year award three times in Norway.

Knutsen has won more than 57% of his games and even demolished Jose Mourinho’s Roma 6-1 in 2021.

Many clubs have been linked with Knutsen in recent years and he is now being tipped for a move to Celtic.

Pundit Jan Aage Fjortoft – a former Norway international who was prominent in English football with Swindon Town, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United and Barnsley – has offers his view.

Fjortoft has taken to Twitter to suggest that Celtic must check out Knutsen as a replacement for Postecoglou.

Fjortoft highlighted that Knutsen has a clear philosophy of attractive football and has punched above his weight in Europe.

The Norwegian did add that Celtic need to ‘hurry up’ if they want Knutsen as Ajax appear to be targeting him to become their new manager.
