Lewis Morgan says that Nottingham Forest wanted him in the January transfer window before his move from St. Mirren to Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic.

Morgan recently joined Celtic from St. Mirren and has been loaned back to the Scottish Championship club for the rest of the season.
The 21-year-old winger is a very talented and promising young player, and the Scotland Under-21 international could prove to be a massive signing for the Hoops in the long run.
The youngster has revealed that he had the chance to join Forest in the Championship in England.

Morgan, though, has stated that Mark Warburton’s departure from the Reds did not have anything to do with his decision to choose Celtic instead of Forest.
“Mark’s departure didn’t really play a part in anything,” Morgan told The Express. “By the time he was sacked I had already informed Forest this was where I wanted to come. As soon as I knew Celtic were interested that was game over.”

Forest are 14th in the Championship table at the moment with 32 points from 26 matches.
The Reds are unlikely to finish in the top six of the league table this season, and there is a danger that they could get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
Celtic are currently at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with 51 points from 22 matches and look set to win the league title yet again this season.
Meanwhile, former Celtic midfielder Murdo MacLeod has advice for Morgan, and told The Scottish Sun: “I’ve watched Lewis on the TV. He’s comfortable on the ball and now needs to focus on taking his game to the next level.
“It is all about levels now. In our day, most teams were similar to the top teams but nowadays the top teams are miles ahead of the rest.
“Celtic are the top team right now so their players must stay at a higher level and new players like Lewis must reach that level.”
