Celtic need to pay up for Jack Hendry, after Premier League interest

Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring Jack Hendry to Celtic, but may have to pay extra after interest from Crystal Palace.

Celtic may have no choice but to pay up for Jack Hendry, as Premier League interest in the defender rises.

According to the Scottish Sun, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are both interested in signing Hendry from Dundee before the close of the January transfer window.

Celtic have hesitated over signing the defender so far, with the Bhoys reluctant to meet Dundee’s asking price for the centre-back.

Dundee want £1.5 million, but Celtic have some reluctance to pay that sort of fee.

However, with competition for his signature, Celtic may have to meet Dundee’s asking price, if they really want the 22-year-old.

A £1.5 million transfer fee is next to nothing to a Premier League side to agree to, due to the wealth in England’s top division.

And if Celtic really do want Hendry, they will have to show their faith in the youngster, by paying more than they initially hoped for him.
