Celtic must consider late swoop for Jermain Defoe.

Celtic are having to fend off interest from Lyon and Marseille in star striker Moussa Dembele, report The Scotsman.
A big late offer would present Celtic with a dilemma, so they need to look at potential replacements for the Frenchman.
The ideal solution would be a late move for Bournemouth striker Jermain Defoe, who is currently out of favour at the Premier League club.
Defoe, 35, will not want to waste the late stages of his career on the bench, but that’s what he is doing at present, playing just one minute out of a possible 270 from Bournemouth’s opening three Premier League matches.

Defoe is a proven goalscorer at all levels, and would be able to slot straight in at Celtic.
He is Tottenham’s all time record European goalscorer, and would be a real asset in the Europa League.
The chance of playing in the competition one last time could be attractive for the former England international.
Defoe would have to take a wage cut to join Celtic on a permanent basis, but a loan agreement with a split of the wages between clubs could be viable.
In an ideal scenario, Celtic will keep hold of star man Dembele. If he does leave, Defoe would be the best replacement they could possibly land at short notice.
