Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers enquired about signing Ademola Lookman from Everton in January.

Celtic must be gutted that they didn’t seize their opportunity to sign Ademola Lookman from Everton in the January transfer window.

The Daily Mail reported how Celtic enquired about Ademola Lookman at the start of the year, but they ended up with Charly Musonda instead.

And, in hindsight, that decision looks to have been a mistake from Brendan Rodgers.

While Musonda has struggled to get any game time whatsoever at Celtic, Lookman has thrived on a loan spell with Red Bull Leipzig.

The £11 million signing from Charlton, has blasted in five goals and claimed four assists in 11 appearances in the Bundesliga.

And Celtic must be disappointed that they didn’t push ahead with a move for Lookman instead of Musonda now.

If Lookman had arrived at Parkhead, he could have offered Celtic a huge amount of attacking threat and given them an injection of fresh impetus.

Celtic exited the Europa League after being knocked out by Zenit St. Petersburg, and they haven’t quite played to their full potential ever since.

Although Celtic have wrapped up the league title, they haven’t done so in quite the same style as last season.

And Lookman’s arrival at Celtic could have just lifted Rodgers’ side at a time when they have not been firing on all cylinders.
