Celtic are said to be preparing to make an offer for Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Michel Vorm in January.
Celtic could have more luck going after Tottenham Hotspur’s Michel Vorm in January than they have previously.
The Bhoys are said by the Scotsman to be plotting a move for the Spurs man in the near future.
Celtic were initially linked with a move for Vorm in 2016 by the Scotsman, but they were unable to complete a deal.
At that stage, Tottenham wanted to keep hold of Vorm, as they recognised him as their second choice goalkeeper.
Spurs now have brought in Paolo Gazzaniga though, and his form in his initial few months at the North London club, may have convinced Mauricio Pochettino that Vorm is expendable.
Gazzaniga stepped into Spurs’ goal for their Premier League match against Crystal Palace, and put in an excellent performance as the Lilywhites picked up the three points.
Gazzaniga appears to have gained Pochettino’s trust, and that could mean that Vorm is allowed to leave.
Vorm only has six months left on his contract at Spurs, which means Celtic will be free to speak to him in January.
And a move could now suit all parties, as the Dutchman is no longer as important to Spurs, and he could become a first-choice player at Parkhead.
