Celtic have decided to loan out 20-year-old midfielder Liam Shaw this month, with the youngster set to join Motherwell this week.
According to the Scotsman, the former Sheffield Wednesday star will spend the remainder of the season with the Scottish Premiership side, with Motherwell beating St. Johnstone to the youngster’s signature.
Shaw has hardly featured for Celtic this season, with the versatile talent playing just 254 minutes of football for the Hoops.
Ange Postecoglou signed the midfielder for free in the summer. However, despite arriving with a good reputation from the English club, minutes have been hard to come by for Shaw with Celtic.
The youngster has made just four appearances in total for the Hoops. Yet with Shaw now set to sign for Motherwell, the midfielder could feature heavily for Graham Alexander’s side in the second half of the season.
Indeed, the Steelmen have been in impressive form this season. Motherwell sit fourth in the SPL, just four points off Hearts in third yet a whopping 14 behind Celtic, who are contesting with Rangers for the title.
Shaw can use Motherwell loan to impress Postecoglou

With Shaw winning a loan to a top Scottish side, the midfielder now has the power to impress the likes of Postecoglou at Celtic whilst spending the remainder of the season with Motherwell.
Shaw has shown glimpses of quality in the little time he has played for Celtic, and with Motherwell, the former Sheffield Wednesday star now has his chance to impress his parent club.
