Celtic midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu may be needed.

Youssouf Mulumbu of Celtic arrives at the stadium prior to the UEFA Europa League Group B match between Celtic and Rosenborg at Celtic Park on September 20, 2018 in Glasgow, United Kingdom.

Celtic midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu could have an increased role in the upcoming weeks.

The controversial summer signing has so far made only three appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

There have been some weeks where the former Kilmarnock man has not been in the matchday squad. The last game before the break he was back on the bench against Livingston.

An injury to Tom Rogic on international duty can change Mulumbu’s situation.

Fox Sports Australia report Rogic has injured his knee and has already been ruled out of the Socceroos’ Tuesday fixture with Lebanon.

Tom Rogic of Australia is challenged by James Rodriguez of Columbia during the International friendly between Australia and Colombia at Craven Cottage on March 27, 2018 in London, England.

He is doubtful for Celtic’s match this weekend against Hamilton and Celtic must rejig their options.

Scott Brown could be fit again after three weeks out with a hamstring injury, but Brendan Rodgers should not rush him back.

The game at Hamilton will be played on an artificial pitch and Rodgers must assess whether this is the right circumstance to bring back his captain.

Mulumbu has been desperate for more chances since signing as a free agent, and the situation with Rogic and Brown could work in his favour.

If he gets the opportunity, he needs to seize it.
