Scott Brown says Patrick Roberts will strengthen Celtic’s squad.

The Manchester City winger is expected to arrive in Scotland on Monday for a medical ahead of his season-long loan move.
Roberts, who joined City from Fulham, enjoyed a 18-month fruitful spell at Parkhead, and he proved to be a vital player for Rodgers’ squad.

Celtic skipper Scott Brown hopes that the Bhoys can push through a deal for the 20-year-old and get him back at the club where he scored 15 goals in all competitions last season.
The Hoops are working feverishly for a deal behind the scene, and Brown believes that the youngster will add “a lot of quality” to the side.

The 32-year-old midfielder was blown away by Roberts’ performance during his 18-month loan spell at the club, and has heaped praises on the young exciting winger.
Brown says that Roberts brings an element of excitement with his skills and body movement.
“Patrick would definitely strengthen our squad. We know what he brings,” said Brown, as quoted by the Daily Record (printed edition; August 28).
“He brings that excitement and when teams are camped in as St Johnstone were at the weekend, he can beat a man standing still with his body movement.
“The ball moves a couple of yards and he puts one in the top corner. That brings a lot of quality but he’s a Manchester City player at the moment and we can’t wish for things that may not happen.”
