Celtic’s Callum McGregor has commented on Brendan Rodgers’ training sessions.

Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor has told the Daily Mail that manager Brendan Rodgers has been urging his players to be ‘relentless’.

The Bhoys claimed the first silverware of the season last weekend, as they beat Aberdeen 3-0 in the final of the Scottish League Cup at Hampden Park.

This afternoon, it’s back to league action for the Bhoys as they take on Motherwell at Fir Park, with manager Brendan Rodgers hoping to grab a win and maintain his unbeaten start to life as Celtic boss in the league.

With 11 wins and one draw in the league this season, Celtic are almost nailed-on to win the title, given that they’re already eight points clear of second-placed Hearts, and have three games in hand.

Rodgers will be delighted to have won his first trophy as Celtic boss with that win over Aberdeen last week, but he’ll also be looking to land the Scottish Cup and league title in a domestic treble for the Bhoys.

The Northern Irishman is rebuilding his reputation at Celtic having been sacked by Liverpool in October 2015, and not only is he impressing in Scotland, but Celtic put up a real fight in the Champions League this season too.

Ahead of today’s game with Motherwell, midfielder Callum McGregor has been speaking about Rodgers, stating the whole squad feel wanted as they know Rodgers will give them a chance to play.

McGregor told the Daily Mail that Rodgers tells his Celtic players to be ‘relentless’ every day in training, and has been using the word ever since he took over as Bhoys boss back in May.

“It’s down to the mindset that the manager has instilled in us,” said McGregor. “Every day in training, he tells us to be relentless. It’s a word he uses all the time when he speaks to us. Since day one, everybody has felt part of things — and everyone has been first class in terms of how we have worked. We have all come together and focused on what we want to do.”

“Even if you haven’t played for a few weeks, there isn’t a feeling that you are left out. You know the manager will always give you a chance to go back in and play your share of games. It leads to everyone feeling part of things and fighting to get big results in big games,” he added.
