Brendan Rodgers knows Patrick Roberts well, having had him on loan at Celtic for the past two and a half seasons.

Roberts looked set to move to Leicester in a part exchange deal with Manchester City for Riyad Mahrez.
However, the Foxes have now reportedly agreed a deal to sign James Maddison, and they no longer want Roberts at the King Power Stadium next season.

Celtic fans now have reason to feel tentatively optimistic over their chances of bringing in the winger.
Brendan Rodgers’ side appeared to have no hopes of signing Roberts this summer, but Leicester’s reluctance to sign him, may just push him back in the direction of Glasgow.
Roberts has spent the last two and a half years with Celtic, where he has seriously impressed.

Roberts is said to be valued at £15 million by the Leicester Mercury, which makes completing a permanent deal difficult for Celtic.
But if the Bhoys do offload one of their star players, they may just stand a chance of landing Roberts, and the transfer which looked impossible for Rodgers now has a slight chance of occurring this summer.
