Celtic manager praises young striker’s performance.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has praised the performance of young talent Odsonne Edouard.
Edouard came off the bench for last night’s match against Anderlecht and looked lively after he came on.
The teenager is on loan from Paris Saint-Germain and has been gradually working his way into the first team set up.

Brendan Rodgers told BT Sport after the game: “I thought he was good, strong, but we couldn’t hold anything up for him
“He’s got ability and pace.”
Asked why he was selected to come off the bench instead of Leigh Griffiths, Rodgers responded curtly: “He scored a hat-trick at the weekend.”
Edouard was handed his first start of the season against Motherwell at the weekend and surprised everybody by netting a hat-trick.
Moussa Dembele was recalled to the starting line-up against Anderlecht but was ineffective and was replaced after 74 minutes.

Brendan Rodgers clearly felt Edouard contributed well, but just did not get the service from his teammates.
Edouard is on a season long loan deal and will hope to get further chances in the Europa League in February.
Celtic qualified for the competition despite their 1-0 home defeat to Anderlecht last night, having beaten the Belgians 3-0 away.
