Griffiths missed out on playing in the Bhoys’ most recent fixture, and Rodgers has warned that any Celtic player who is deemed not have the right mentality will be moved on.

“He’s clearly a talent. But if we’re going to be a Champions League club consistently then you need a Champions League mindset. Otherwise you’ll be playing somewhere else and that goes for anybody,” Rodgers said.

“Leigh’s a very important part of what I’m looking to do, and will continue to be. He’s a brilliant striker but he has to be fit and available, and to be fit you have to look after every part of your life.”

Griffiths has had to deal with losing his place as Celtic’s number one striker this season.

The 26-year-old has netted 13 goals in all competitions, helping Rodgers’s side establish a 27 point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
