Rangers were dumped out of the Scottish Cup on Sunday night with St Johnstone producing a shock win at Ibrox.
The Gers weren’t at their best and only took the lead through James Tavernier in the 117th minute, with Rangers feeling that their late extra time goal was enough to go through.
However, Christopher Kane popped in injury time to score, touching home a flick-on from goalkeeper Zander Clark in stunning scenes.
St Johnstone then came through the penalty shootout, meaning Rangers’ seemingly dominant season will now end with just one trophy.
Many expected Rangers to go through, but Callum Davidson’s side produced a battling display to make it through to the semi-finals.
This season could now end with a domestic cup double for St Johnstone, and Sunday’s win meant a lot to Saints defender Shaun Rooney.
Rooney is a boyhood Celtic fan, so winning at Ibrox and sending Rangers packing is everything he could have wanted.
On Monday, Rooney took to Instagram to poke fun at Rangers, posting a photo of him raising a pint whilst stating ‘drinking they tears’, accompanied with a green heart emoji as he made his Celtic allegiance clear.
