The Hoops defender’s contract is up and he is leaving the Scottish Premiership champions following a trophy-laden stint at Parkhead.

Celtic have posted a Twitter message in honour of Mikael Lustig, who is set to leave the Scottish Premiership champions after almost eight years.
However, some Hoops fans have criticised the club over how they have treated the player, who has been a good servant and played a role in a glorious period for the team.
The Sweden right-back’s contract with the Hoops has reached its end and there appeared to be no sign of an extension, while there was also reported interest from Belgian club Gent (The Scottish Sun).
Joining Celtic from Rosenborg in January 2012 after his contract in Norway expired, Lustig made 276 appearances for the club (BBC Sport).
The 32-year-old leaves Parkhead with a sizeable medal collection, having won eight league titles, four Scottish Cups and four League Cups.

According to the Scottish Sun, Swedish sides AIK and Malmo were also interested in a move for Lustig, who had previously expressed his desire to return to play his home nation one day.
