Celtic’s Timothy Weah inadvertently angered some fans of his parent club Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

Celtic star Timothy Weah has ‘sincerely apologised’ to parent club Paris Saint-Germain.
The Ligue 1 giants were knocked out of the Champions League in dramatic circumstances on Wednesday night.
Manchester United, who went to Parc des Princes with a 2-0 first-leg deficit, scored a last-minute penalty which sealed a 3-1 win on the night as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side advanced into the quarter-finals on the away goal rule.
Weah, who joined Celtic on loan in January, ‘liked’ a post-match Instagram picture from Red Devils starlet Tahith Chong and wrote ‘big baller’ on it.
Given that the 19-year-old is employed by PSG, it was deemed an insensitive gesture from Weah, especially given the controversial circumstances surrounding the penalty decision.
But the Hoops loanee has apologised on his Instagram story, writing: “I sincerely apologise for not realising that I commented on something bad.
“Even though I was disappointed with Manchester’s win, I was happy for my two friends [Chong and Greenwood] who made their debut in the Champions League, which is also my dream. It’s just really bad timing on my part. PSG did everything for me – I have no reason to be against them. I love my team-mates and I love the fans, so I will never let the fans or the club down.”
Weah has been a big hit at Parkhead since joining, netting three goals in 10 appearances for Celtic.
He has only earned nine minutes of playing time in the two games since Neil Lennon replaced Brendan Rodgers in Glasgow, but he’ll hope for a first start in Saturday’s visit of Aberdeen in the Premiership.
