The Celtic youngster scored his first senior goal for his loan side.
Although he has yet to make a senior appearance for Celtic, talented striker PJ Crossan is developing very well on loan at Alloa Athletic.
Having caught the eye for the Scottish League One side in the first half of the season, Crossan’s loan was subsequently extended until the end of the campaign.
The erstwhile Scottish youth international marked the occasion by finding the net in the 3-1 victory at home to Albion Rovers at the weekend – his first ever senior goal – while he produced an encouraging overall display.
Crossan has featured frequently for Celtic at various youth levels and prior to joining the club gained some fleeting experience of senior football during his time at Dunfermline Athletic.
Making the breakthrough at Celtic in the longterm will undoubtedly be a very difficult task, but the 19-year-old has shown some encouraging signs while out on loan and should be able to forge out a successful career elsewhere if he doesn’t make the cut with his parent club.
Crossan will hope to continue to impress for Alloa Athletic in the remainder of the campaign as he looks to prove to Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers that he deserves to be given an opportunity to impress for the Scottish Premiership leaders.
