Manchester City have loaned Patrick Roberts to Celtic until the end of the season.
Celtic loanee Patrick Roberts has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he has had no contact from new Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola yet.
Roberts joined up with Celtic last January, and will spend the entirety of this season at Parkhead.
The young winger is already playing an important role for Brendan Rodgers’ side, and there are high hopes for his future at City.
However, although he is in regular contact with his parent club, he is yet to speak to Guardiola – with the prospect’s full focus on helping Celtic.
“I haven’t spoken to Pep Guardiola,” Roberts admitted. “As I say, my main thing just now is Celtic and trying to prove myself here. He does what he does with the team and I will speak to him at the end of the season. For now, I am focused on Celtic.
“They text and call me to keep in touch. But while I am at Celtic I am a Celtic player and I will do everything I can to help this club.”
Roberts has made just three appearances for City, following his arrival from Fulham back in 2015.
The 19-year-old has been given plenty of game time at Celtic, however, and he has impressed when in the first-team.
Roberts’ creativity has caught the eye, and he managed to score six times in just 11 appearances last term.
Roberts’ next chance to show his worth could come at the weekend, when the Bhoys take on Inverness.
