Celtic loanee Erik Sviatchenko is delighted to be playing again.

Eric Sviatchenko of Celtic celebrates as Celtic win the Betfred Cup Final between Aberdeen FC and Celtic FC at Hampden Park on November 27, 2016 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Just days after clinching a loan move away from Celtic, Erik Sviatchenko played his first game for FC Midtjylland.

The Danish defender featured in a friendly game against German club Kaiserslautern, a 1-0 defeat.

Scott Brown, Erik Sviatchenko and Stuart Armstrong of Celtic celebrate during the Betfred Cup Final between Aberdeen and Celtic at Hampden Park on November 27, 2016 in Glasgow, Scotland.

For Sviatchenko the result was not really too important, he was just glad to get back to playing again.

He sent a message on Twitter after making his first appearance.

Sviatchenko was deemed expendable by Brendan Rodgers despite the club’s supposed defensive worries.

The centre-back began the season out of action with a knee injury and then was unable to force his way back into the side.

Solid performances out on loan could yet see him rekindle his Celtic career.

He has not played since the Champions League qualifying match against Rosenborg back in August, and his delight at being back on the pitch even in a friendly game is understandable.
