On-loan Celtic playmaker Daniel Arzani posted an update on his anterior cruciate ligament injury on Instagram by informing fans that the operation on his knee was a success.

The 19-year-old only joined Celtic in the summer on a two-year loan deal from Manchester City, after he joined Pepe Guardiola’s side from Melbourne City after impressing in the Australian A-League.

Already an Australia international, Arzani immediately moved north of the border after his City move to join Celtic. It has been a difficult first few months with the Scottish champions.

Indeed, Arzani finally made his debut as a substitute in the 5-0 win over Dundee but in that time he suffered the long-term problem that has since seen the Australian go under the knife. He posted on Instagram after the operation.

The attacking midfielder was operated on in Barcelona, and it is expected that he will miss the entire 2018-19 campaign along with Kouassi Eboue who is in a similar boat.

It seems as though Arzani is to recover from the injury at City, before returning to Celtic when recovered as he remains on loan until the summer of 2020.
