Uche Ikpeazu has gone from bad to worse since he was linked to Celtic.

The Scottish Sun reported earlier this month that Celtic were interested in the Hearts striker.

But since those rumours, the 24-year-old has struggled to do the business for the Jambos.

Ikpeazu was poor in the Scottish Cup win over Inverness last week, and was arguably even worse in Saturday’s 3-1 defeat by Rangers at Tynecastle.

The English striker demonstrated his immense power and physicality against the Hoops’ Old Firm rivals, but there seemed to be little by way of footballing talent.

Ikpeazu has his uses, but being honest, Celtic have no need for them.

The Parkhead side definitely need a new striker, with Oliver Burke and Timothy Weah likely to return to their respective parent clubs this summer, but if Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths are the benchmark then Ikpeazu falls way, way short.
