Celtic are heavily linked with a move for the big centre-back.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon revealed to The Scottish Sun on Wednesday that a deal to sign Christopher Jullien was getting close.

The towering Toulouse centre-back, who stands at 6’5, has been linked with a move to Parkhead for much of the summer transfer window so far.

According to The Record, the French side quoted Celtic around £8 million.

And it looks like Lennon’s comments were accurate after Jullien posted a photograph of himself on a plane this morning, alongside the caption: ‘Long day in process’.

Hoops fans could be forgiven for being cynical and wondering if he was on a plane to somewhere else other than Glasgow, what with the David Turnbull saga taking another twist, but this one seems far more straightforward it’s fair to say.

It’s been a quiet summer for Lennon on the transfer front so far. Well, he has got rid of plenty of players, but Jullien, if he were to sign today or tomorrow, would be their first arrival, due to the protracted Turnbull mess.

Jullien is a player Celtic badly need, in light of losing Dedryck Boyata on a Bosman, and Filip Benkovic going back to parent club Leicester City.
