Premier League clubs want to sign Celtic winger Liel Abada having been impressed with his progress in Scotland.

That’s according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Premier League teams fancy Abada as a talent for the future.

Romano adds that Celtic think Abada is a key player and they are fighting to keep him ‘at all costs’.

Celtic swooped to sign Abada from Maccabi Petah Tikva back in the summer of 2021.

The Bhoys paid around £3.5million to sign Abada and that deal now looks like an absolute bargain.

The 21-year-old has racked up 24 goals and 15 assists in 78 games for Celtic, racking up huge numbers from the right flank.

An Israel international with nine caps to his name, Abada looks to have a huge future ahead of him – whether that’s at Celtic or another club.

Who could target Celtic star Abada?

A major suitor will surely be Crystal Palace.

One in Israel reported earlier this year that Palace were keen on luring Abada to the Premier League but no move materialised.

Given question marks over Wilfried Zaha’s future, Palace may well be in the market for a winger in 2023.

That could bring Abada back into the mix for the Eagles, but whether they can convince Celtic to sell is another matter.

That’s the most realistic suitor for Abada, but what about his ideal move?

In 2021, Abada told Sport5 in Israel that his ‘biggest dream’ is to eventually sign for Liverpool one day.

We can’t really see Liverpool moving for Abada just yet though.

Maybe signing him as cover for Mohamed Salah on the right flank isn’t the worst idea, but Liverpool would surely only move once Abada has impressed at a club after Celtic.

That’s how it worked with Virgil van Dijk; he excelled with Celtic, then impressed with Southampton too before making his Anfield move.

We think Abada should stay at Celtic for a little while yet, continue to develop with regular playing time and then maybe look towards the Premier League.
