Celtic target Josip Juranovic said a “beautiful goodbye” to his Legia Warsaw teammates with a wonder goal during last night’s Europa League clash with Slavia Prague, coach Czeslaw Michniewicz has told Interia Sport.

There are certainly worse ways to bow out.

The Croatia international is hardly a regular goalscorer. He had netted just four goals in 204 career appearances before last night’s qualifier with Slavia Prague.

But you’d never have guessed as Juranovic broke from his own half and carried the ball 30 yards before lashing a rocket shot top bins.

If that’s a sign of things to come from the Zagreb-born right-back as he closes in on a £2.5 million move to Glasgow, Celtic fans have a lot to look forward to (Sun).

Could Legia star Juranovic be a Celtic player by Monday?

“I am pleased with Josip Juranovic’s goal. He will most likely leave so, if he does, it was a beautiful goodbye for him,” said Michniewicz.

According to the coach, Juranovic also bid an emotional farewell to his Legia teammates after the 2-2 draw in the Czech capital.

“Jura said a fantastic goodbye to us – on the pitch and with his friends in the dressing room.”

Legia president Dariusz Mioduski insisted earlier this week Juranovic’s long-awaited move to the Scottish Premiership giants had yet to be agreed.

But it seems only a matter of time before a man who impressed during Croatia’s 3-1 Euro 2020 victory over Scotland at Hampden Park is joining forces with Liel Abada, Joe Hart and the exceptional Kyogo Furuhashi at Celtic Park.

It’s understood Juranovic won’t feature in Sunday’s Polish league clash with Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza.

Celtic are also closing in on the signing of Eredivisie Golden Boot winner Giorgios Giakoumakis from VVV-Venlo, while versatile left-back Liam Scales is expected to arrive from Shamrock Rovers.
