Former Celtic star John Hartson offered some words of advice for the Rangers players ahead of their clash with Celtic at Parkhead on Sunday, when writing his column for the Glasgow Evening Times.

The Hoops currently sit comfortably at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, 10 points clear of second placed Rangers, and they can clinch the league title with a win over Graeme Murty’s men at the weekend.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is seen during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Hibernian and Celtic at Easter Road on April 21, 2018 in Edinburgh, Scotland.

On the flip-side, the Gers can keep their own title hopes alive with a win at Parkhead, as unlikely as that may seem.

The Light Blues will be determined to save face after their humiliating 4-0 defeat to Brendan Rodgers’ side last time out in the Scottish Cup semi-final, although that will be easier said than done on Celtic’s home patch.

Hartson, who scored 109 goals for the Hoops, shared what he would be telling the Rangers players in the dressing room ahead of their clash with their bitter rivals on Sunday, when writing his column for the Glasgow Evening Times:

“If I was in that Rangers dressing room I would be absolutely determined that they weren’t winning it on my watch. It is your own personal pride. You are a professional football player and none of us cope well with losing. No-one likes to walk off a pitch having been humiliated, especially by your biggest rivals.”

The Old Firm clash will be as highly charged as ever, with both side’s desperate to win the game.

Rangers will at least need to show more passion and fight than they did at Hampden Park two weeks ago, if they are to have any chance of turning over Celtic.

The game kicks of at 12:00 and can be seen exclusively live on Sky Sports.
