Celtic are open to selling defender Josip Juranovic in January amid claims that West Ham United are looking to sign him.

The Bhoys have started their January business very early.

Vissel Kobe defender Yuki Kobayashi has already agreed to join in January and right back Alistar Johnston is coming in from CF Montreal too.

Two signings with December only a couple of days old is pretty incredible but it may also lead to some departures in January.

Celtic open to selling Josip Juranovic

The belief is that Canadian World Cup star Johnston has been brought in to replace Josip Juranovic.

Johnston is primarily a right back even though he has played as a wing back and even as a right-sided centre back in Canada’s back three.

Fabrizio Romano now claims that this is the case and Celtic have snapped up Johnston to come in as Juranovic’s replacement.

Romano claims that Celtic are now ‘open’ to discussing the sale of Juranovic in the January transfer window.

Juranovic is under contract until 2026 and only joined Celtic last year but the Bhoys may see this as the right time to sell.

Juranovic turns 28 early into next season and is currently impressing with Croatia at the World Cup in Qatar.

This may be the perfect time to cash in and sell Juranovic whilst his value is high.

Where could Juranovic end up?

Reports from 90Min highlight that West Ham United are now interested in signing Juranovic in January.

That may hinge on selling Vladimir Coufal to Bayer Leverkusen, which in turn hinges on Jeremie Frimpong – formerly of Celtic – moving on.

90Min reported in August that Manchester United and Chelsea are fans of Juranovic, so West Ham may face a major battle.

Yet with Celtic now open to a sale ahead of January, the door is open for David Moyes to strike a deal.
