Newcastle United want Josip Juranovic but Celtic are now set to demand at least £17million for the full back amid interest from Torino.
That’s according to the Daily Record, who claim that Torino have made contact to try and sign Juranovic.
The Serie A side have a Croatian manager in Ivan Juric and he is seemingly well aware of Juranovic’s quality.
The Celtic star has been outstanding for Croatia at the World Cup and has seemingly attracted Juric’s attention.
Yet when Torino asked Celtic about a deal for Juranovic, they were told to pay at least £17million – double their transfer record.
Torino paid around £8.5million to sign defender Perr Schuurs from Ajax over the summer and Celtic want double that figure.
Juranovic cost Celtic just £2.5million in 2021 so they are now seeking hefty profit.
It seems unlikely that Torino will be paying that kind of money for Juranovic but Premier League clubs may still be lurking.

Newcastle fancy signing Celtic ace Juranovic
Four Premier League clubs are currently being linked with a move to sign Juranovic.
The Sunday Post (11/12, back page) reported that Chelsea, Manchester United and West Ham United are all keen having been mentioned of late.
Newcastle were added to the mix for the first time with Eddie Howe seemingly chasing another right back signing in 2023.
Links to Juranovic do seem a little surprising from Newcastle’s side, even if he has been hugely impressive over in Qatar.
There have been links to right backs like Harrison Ashby and Cody Drameh, but they’re younger right backs who could be moulded as the successor to Kieran Trippier.
27-year-old Juranovic is ready to play now and paying £17million for a second-choice right back just doesn’t seem likely.
Hailed as ‘absolutely brilliant’ by Gary Neville, Juranovic is deservedly attracting interest but we can’t see a move to Newcastle materialising in January.
