Celtic defender Josip Juranovic is holding out for a move to the Premier League despite mounting interest from clubs in Italy.

That’s according to the Daily Record, who claim that Juranovic is waiting for Premier League interest to materialise.

Monza have been pushing to secure Juranovic on loan with an option to buy the defender for £7million in the summer.

Espanyol have a similar idea in mind whilst Monza’s Serie A rivals Torino are now back in for Juranovic having previously shown an interest.

Torino boss Ivan Juric is a fellow Croatian and seemingly wants to join forces with Juranovic.

The problem is that Juranovic himself wants to wait for the Premier League, possibly leaving those clubs – and even Celtic – a little frustrated.

Who could bring Celtic’s Josip Juranovic to the Premier League?

Juranovic is hoping for a move to England and there does appear to be some level of interest.

The Sunday Post (11/12, back page) reported that Newcastle United had joined the race to sign Juranovic.

Chelsea, Manchester United and West Ham United were also named in the battle for Juranovic’s signature.

The Daily Record then claimed that Celtic wanted around £17million for Juranovic, a fee they look very unlikely to receive now.

Transfer insider Dean Jones told Give Me Sport that West Ham did fancy Juranovic but felt they were being used to generate interest elsewhere, so didn’t think they could do a deal.

If West Ham do still want to sign Juranovic, a deal is surely there to be done.

Chelsea and United seem to be looking elsewhere now and Newcastle are going for younger right backs like Ivan Fresneda.

Juranovic was excellent at the World Cup with Gary Neville telling ITV Sport (13/12, 6:45pm) that he thought the Celtic star was ‘absolutely brilliant’ in Qatar.

That means interest is inevitable and we think West Ham may be his best route to a Premier League club this month.
