Former Celtic defender Josip Juranovic, who was sold to Union Berlin in January has addressed the links regarding him moving to either Manchester United or Chelsea.
The Croatian right-back has also made headlines after admitting that the main reason why he left Ange Postecoglou’s side was over concerns about his game time, which would have led to him losing his place in the national side.
Now, Josip Juranovic has also gone on to address the speculation surrounding him gearing up for a switch to either Manchester United or Chelsea from Celtic after his excellent World Cup campaign.
Ex-Celtic defender Josip Juranovic addresses Manchester United and Chelsea links
The £10 million (Sky Sports) man, who decided to join Union Berlin was lauded for how well he performed for Croatia in Qatar, with Gary Neville referring to him as ‘absolutely brilliant.’
In a recent interview relayed by German outlet Sportschau, Josip Juranovic gave his thoughts on him being linked with transfers to Manchester United and Chelsea from Celtic, while discussing the switch to the Bundesliga side.

“First, I had the World Cup and then I read in the media that I would switch to Manchester United or Chelsea. You have to be realistic. It’s the right step for me [to join Union Berlin]. In my career, I’ve never taken 2 steps at once. I’m advancing my career step by step.”
“I want to play and that’s why I’m here.”
Makes complete sense
If the ‘superb’ Josip Juranovic did end up leaving Celtic to sign for either Manchester United or Chelsea, there would be question marks over his starting place.
With either Diogo Dalot or Aaron Wan-Bissaka providing him stiff competition for a berth in the side, while Reece James is considered the best right-back in the world, the Croatian’s suspicions over potentially missing out on becoming a regular starter for his national team may have come to fruition.
