Celtic lost 1-0 at Livingston on Sunday afternoon, but Joe Hart has refused to suggest that the Bhoys are a work in progress under Ange Postecoglou.

The Bhoys threw away a 2-0 lead at Real Betis on Thursday night, and wanted to hit back against Livingston.

Unfortunately for the Hoops, Celtic came unstuck at Almondvale Stadium.

Andrew Shinnie scored the only goal of the game, firing a superb left-footed strike into the top corner.

Celtic couldn’t get back into the game, leaving them sixth in the Scottish Premiership table.

Hart comments on Celtic situation

Even in a rebuild, Celtic fans would expect to have more than enough to beat Livingston.

Goalkeeper Joe Hart has now told The Scottish Sun that Celtic simply have no excuses for defeats like this.

Hart completely refused to suggest that Postecoglou’s side is a work in progress, seemingly understanding the expectation level at Parkhead.

“Look, there are no excuses. We know what our job is. We know where we stand in this league,” said Hart. “You can ask for time but we have rocked up for an away game with three-quarters of the support so there are really plenty of things in our favour.”

“I’m not saying we’re a work in progress — you haven’t heard that from me. I’m saying we’re here to try and win for Celtic, for each other, for the manager and for the fans,” he added.

Postecoglou is facing changes at Celtic

This has been a tough rebuilding job.

Even on deadline day, Celtic lost key players in Ryan Christie and Odsonne Edouard.

Giorgos Giakoumakis hasn’t been ready to play, and neither has Liam Scales.

James McCarthy had no pre-season and Liel Abada has blown hot and cold – as you’d expect from a young import.

There have been bright spots in Kyogo Furuhashi and even Hart himself.

Celtic weren’t going to turn things around in one transfer window. It will likely take three or four windows to get Celtic truly back on track.

Postecoglou has brought an identity to Celtic again, and there may be some bumps on the way, but the Australian is worth sticking with and getting behind.
