Celtic are keen on Ivan Fresneda with the Real Valladolid talent attracting major interest ahead of the January transfer window.

That’s according to Radio Marca Valladolid, as relayed by El Desmarque over in Spain.

They note that Celtic fancy signing Fresneda but face enormous competition.

Rennes, Brentford, Southampton, Fulham, Arsenal, AC Milan, Juventus and Villarreal are all mentioned in this latest report.

Valladolid are open to selling in January, believing they can bring in a hefty fee for the right back.

Fresneda has a release clause of around €30million (£26million) and Valladolid seemingly think the teenager is a real asset.

Fresneda, 19, has only played nine times for Valladolid’s first team and just six times in La Liga.

Yet it looks like Fresneda has done enough to attract major interest and Celtic are allegedly keen.

Celtic could face even more competition for Fresneda

Fresneda was a relative unknown just a few days ago.

Yet now AS suggest that Liverpool, Newcastle United, Leeds United, Everton and Wolverhampton are also interested in Fresneda.

Celtic won’t be paying Fresneda’s £26million release clause and it’s hard to see them being able to beat those Premier League clubs to his signature,

Additionally, Celtic have just agreed to sign a new right back with Alistar Johnston arriving from CF Montreal after shining at the World Cup.

Celtic have been eyeing up potential right back signings with Josip Juranovic expected to leave in January.

It may be that Celtic fancied signing Fresneda if the deal for Johnston didn’t materialise, but there just doesn’t seem to be a need for him right now.

So many clubs being keen on Fresneda at this early stage in his career means there must be huge potential in the Spaniard, but we just can’t see him wearing the famous green and white hoops any time soon.
