Celtic go into the 2022/23 season having won the domestic treble in every season since 2016/17.
With so many exciting players at Celtic currently, Hoops fans may be wondering what their team could look like in a few years time.
To help, HITC Sport has used Football Manager 2017 to predict what Celtic’s team could look like in 2022. Alex Neil is now in charge, and the Hoops have won the domestic treble every year leading up to the 2022/23 campaign.
With that in mind, here is a look at the starting XI…
GK: Manuel Riemann
Currently playing for Bochum in the German Second Division, Manuel Reimann joined Celtic for £2.1 million in 2020, replacing Craig Gordon who retired that summer.
RB: Angel Kirov
An FM 2017 regen, Angel Kirov is on loan at Parkhead from Inter Milan, but has done little to impress so far. Mikael Lustig left in the summer of 2022.
CB: Falaye Cisse
Like Kirov, Cisse is a regen player on loan from Sevilla. The current centre-back trio of Erik Sviatchenko, Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata are all now playing elsewhere.
Brentford’s Andreas Bjelland (L)
CB: Andreas Bjelland
The now 34-year-old – who, in real life, currently plays for Brentford – joined the Hoops in 2019. Despite his age, he has made a brilliant start to the 2022/23 season.
LB: Greg Cunningham
In reality, Greg Cunningham is preparing for his first season working under Alex Neil following his appointment at Preston North End. On the game, he arrived for free in 2019. Incredibly, Kieran Tierney has literally disappeared off the game.
Celtic’s Callum McGregor
CM: Callum McGregor
Callum McGregor showed some positive signs under Brendan Rodgers last season. On the game, he is an important member of Celtic’s midfield by the time 2022 rolls around.
CM: Rolando Mandragora
Rolando Mandragora is the Hoops’ talisman in 2022, following his £3.4 million move from Atletico Madrid. Atleti even want to bring back the man who, in reality, currently plays for Juventus.
RM: Andrew Sleight
The last regen in the side is Celtic’s brightest prospect in 2022. He is wanted by Bournemouth and Newcastle.

LM: Ricardo Horta
Ricardo Horta has never quite realised his potential, and in 2021, he leaves Malaga to join Celtic on a free transfer. He has only scored two goals and contributed four assists during his time with the Bhoys.
AM: Steven Berghuis
The Watford flop arrived at Celtic for £1.5 million. He contributed 12 assists during his first season.
ST: Leigh Griffiths
Moussa Dembele left for Southampton, meaning that Leigh Griffiths is the main man again. He has started this latest season with six goals in four games.
