Rangers goalkeeper McGregor was caught kicking out at Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer during Sunday’s clash.

Chris Sutton has reacted in humorous fashion on Twitter after the Daily Record reported that Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor would not be reprimanded for seemingly kicking out at Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer.
Veteran goalkeeper McGregor was caught lashing out at Ajer during the aftermath of a Celtic free kick in the first half, which was missed by referee Willie Collum who has since been heavily criticised for his performance on Sunday.
The case for McGregor to be banned was taken to the Scottish Football Association and reviewed by comlpiance officer Clare Whyte, but the Record report that McGregor will escape a ban.
Celtic icon Sutton reacted to the news in somewhat surprising fashion after goalkeeper McGregor, who has shone since returning to Rangers, got away without punishment.
No unanimous decision was made by the panel, meaning a decision could not be made which will come as a huge plus to Steven Gerrard and Rangers ahead of the international break.
Even Gerrard admitted that McGregor was lucky not to have been sent off and admitted that he would talk to the former Hull City stopper: “He’s lashed out. Of course I will speak to him about it.”
Rangers are not in action until after the international break, when they play host to Dundee at Ibrox where they will be looking to improve their worst start to the Scottish Premiership campaign in 29 years.
