Celtic should have pushed harder to sign Tottenham Hotspur forward Marcus Edwards.

Celtic may live to regret not pushing harder to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Marcus Edwards, while they had a chance of landing the youngster.

Edwards signed on loan for Norwich City until the end of the season yesterday, and he could have been ideal for Celtic.

According to the Daily Mail, Celtic want to bring in a new number 10 this month – with Chelsea’s Charly Musonda and Lewis Baker both in their sights.

However, the opportunity to sign Edwards may have been an even more appealing one, had they pressed on with it.

Edwards is regarded as one of the brightest talents at Tottenham, and his performances for the under-23 side have been outstanding.

The young forward looks to have a huge amount of ability, and would surely have been a brilliant addition to Celtic’s team.

The Bhoys have already benefitted from taking Patrick Roberts on loan at a young age, with the wide-man now spending over two years at Parkhead.

And if Celtic could have shown a similar foresight with Edwards, they could seriously benefitted from giving the Spurs youngster his first taste of regular senior football.
